Tattoo Aftercare Instructions
Thank you for choosing our studio — your healing journey starts now.
Your new tattoo is a living piece of art. Proper aftercare is essential for preserving the detail, sharpness, and longevity of your fine line work. Please follow the instructions below to ensure a smooth healing process.
✦ Immediately After Your Appointment
Your artist will apply a sterile bandage or second-skin film (such as Saniderm or Derm Shield).
Leave the bandage on for 24–48 hours unless otherwise instructed.
During this time, avoid excessive movement that could irritate the tattooed area.
✦ After Removing the Bandage
Gently wash the area with clean hands, using lukewarm water and a mild, fragrance-free soap (such as Dr. Bronner’s Unscented or Dial Gold).
Pat dry with a clean paper towel or let it air dry. Do not rub.
Apply a thin layer of an unscented tattoo aftercare ointment (like Aquaphor or Hustle Butter) as directed by your artist.
Repeat this cleaning process 2–3 times per day for the first week.
✦ Days 3–14: Healing Stage
Your tattoo may begin to flake or peel like a sunburn. Do not pick, scratch, or peel.
Continue to moisturize 1–2 times daily with a gentle, fragrance-free lotion.
Wear loose, breathable clothing over the tattooed area.
✦ What to Avoid
🚫 Do NOT soak the tattoo (no swimming, baths, hot tubs) for at least 2–3 weeks
🚫 Do NOT expose your tattoo to direct sun or tanning beds
🚫 Do NOT apply scented lotions, oils, or heavy ointments unless approved
🚫 Do NOT scratch or touch your tattoo with unclean hands
✦ Long-Term Care
Once healed, always use sunscreen (SPF 30+) on your tattoo to protect fine lines from fading.
Schedule a touch-up if needed — fine line tattoos may need refreshing over time.
